I asked my demo friends on our FB page for places to go for challenges/sketches, so I'm trying out a few before I "commit" to any particular one. Or two. Or three. Or.. you get the idea.
I liked this challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments because I'm really digging simplicity lately. I immediately was drawn to the colors in the photo they showed, so I used Night of Navy, Crum Cake, and Whisper White and kept it all clean and simple!

I found this really cool blog the other day that hosts challenges. Lately I have been really into challenges and play along with quite a few. This one is really cool, though, because it's for Stampin' Up! products ONLY! Love that.
I stamped the images from Autumn Splendor on Very Vanilla, then "painted" them with my blender pen and inks. I ran the finished product through my Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder (an idea I got from uber talented Canadian Renee Van Stralen- a fellow demo) and then spritzed the heck out of it with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz. Tied some ribbon, stamped a sentiment with some acorns. Viola! Done in about 15 minutes. I based my sketch on a card I saw from Ashely Newell- I loved its simplicity.

Here's my take on CPS Sketch 183!
When SU! sent all demos a copy of their Spanish catalog- Celebrando Creatividad- I was in love with a lot of the stamps. Most of them are versions of the English ones- which you can also find the item #s for in the main catalog (some are also available in French). But, there are a few that are not in our catalog- like the set I used here: "Flores Suaves". GOR-JUS. It has this flower, a butterfly, a bee, and the script background stamp that I also used. I had to have it!! Here's a link to the Spanish Catalog:
SU! Spanish CatalogThis technique is called "Permanent Mask". I stamped the flower in Early Espresso ink, then covered the entire image with Crystal Effects. It took about 30 minutes to dry completely (I am NOT a patient person). I then sponged on some ink: Pacific Point, Night of Navy, Not Quite Navy, and Sahara Sand. Next, I stamped the script background with Early Espresso, stamping off once. I wanted it to have a little sparkle so I sprayed the entire image with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz (click on the closeup picture to see it better). I stamped the words from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set and spritzed those with the Smooch, too. I cut the striped grosgrain Night of Navy ribbon in half. This makes the edge fray- but I loved the way it looked. To "bling" it up a little more, I added the self-adhesive pearls (LUV THOSE!). The patterned paper is from the Blueberry Crisp DSP.
